A group of members of the PGE Skra Bełchatów volleyball team made up of Paweł Zatorki, Paweł Woicki and Wytze Kooistra has visited the oncology department of the Instytut Matki i Dziecka (Mother and Child Institute) in Warsaw.
They have shown up at the hospital right after final match of the VII Zdzisław Ambroziak’s Memorial. Children, curious as usual, have listened carefully to their guests talking about their professional and off-field life. In addition to answering diverse questions the players have had to deal with specially prepared tasks: Wytze Kooistra of Netherlands has been reading chilren’s stories in Polish; Paweł Zatorski, blindfolded, has overcome the road thinking it was full of obstacles and Paweł Woicki, also with his eyes closed, has had to move holding an egg on a spoon, avoiding obstacles witing for him all over the corridor.
This visit was another joint initiative of PGE Skra Bełchatów and Herosi Foundation, whose collaboration has been initiated with the creation of our organization, in 2009. Apart from bringing children great entertainment, at the end of the visit volleyball club t-shirt signed by its players was given for the purposes of the Herosi Foundation. Bidding of the t-shirt will support our efforts to improve the conditions in which children undergo their treatment.
