Polish volleyball players being Heroes once again 18 czerwca, 2013 10:36 am
Members of the Poland national men’s volleyball team joined eagerly by their coach Andrea Anastasi once again have participated in one of the Herosi Foundation’s campaign. Just like the previous year they agreed to take part in the photoshoot prepared by Herosi. The pictures taken by Sylwia Dąbrowa that present children joined by Michał Ruciak, Piotr Nowakowski, Andrzej Wrona, Michał Kubiak, Marcin Możdżonek, Paweł Zatorski, Grzegorz Kosok, Jakub Jarosz, Bartosz Kurek, Łukasz Wiśniewski, Krzysztof Ignaczak, Łukasz Żygadło, Michał Winiarski and coach Anastasi, posing as different kind of heroes, will serve us to compose a charity calendar for 2014.
The whole group has joined Herosi’s campaign of that kind for the 2nd time in a row. The photos taken last year, presented in various exhibitions and used as the basis for 2013 calendar aroused great interest among people of good will and volleyball fans. It is the one and only charity project related to this particular sport discipline in Poland.
The purpose of each photoshoot, subsequent calendars and expositions is to provide broader support to terminally ill people, physically or mentally handicapped, children from orphanages, etc. The main goal as for now is to collect money necessary for the purchase of special medical equipment indispensable for the newly-created operating room of the Children and Youth Surgical Oncology Clinic of Instytut Matki i Dziecka (Mother and Child Institute) of Warsaw. The cost of this venture reaches the amount of approximately 1 500 000 PLN. The new volleyball/heroes related calendars will be on sale by September of 2013.
We would like to thank: Polski Związek Piłki Siatkowej (Polish Volleyball Association), COS in Spała, members of the Polish volleyball national teamt and their coach. Without their unselfish commitment the whole action could not take place.
Below we present a couple of backstage pictures and video.
