L ast Thursday Wiktor ate a poisonous mushroom the result of which he was hospitalized in Szczecin. Now, he is struggling for life - against the time...

Wiktor emergently needs blood and plasma; his blood group is 0 Rh+. Additionally the doctors have only few days to find a liver donor for Wiktor.

People who want to give blood should attend the nearest blood-donation station and emphasize that the blood is being donated specifically for Wiktor Pstrąg who is currently remaining in a Szczecin voivodship Joint Hospital (Wojewódzki Szpital Zespolony in Szczecin).

Giba – the captain of the Brazilian volleyball team - assured us on the phone, that he would join the actions organized by our Charity (e. g. painting of cups) and that he would have a surprise for us too. The mysterious surprise was explained in Bydgoszcz after the end of VIIIth Wagner Memorial  - Giba gave us his unique jersey  – “nobody has such a T-shirt” – he said with smile.

This was not the first time Giba helped Heroes Charity: he has fulfilled the dream of the terminally ill boy; painted Easter eggs; has also given training T-shirts for the auction and then handed it over to the winner of the auction.

Giba is always cheerful and very helpful - a very warm-hearted man, from whom the energy to act emanates with great power. He has himself recovered from a severe illness and knows what it means to "survive" and how important other people’s help is when you are fighting with an illness.

We are happy to inform that a new hospital bed – “Novera 3A” was purchased and delivered to the Oncological Division of Mother and Child Hospital in Warsaw.

The bed consists of 4 parts and thus can be easily converted to certain positions required by the state of patients. This is extremely important as patients with bone cancer are immobilized in beds almost the whole time while in hospital. The bed was produced by the company Solter S. A. The total cost of bed together with the additional equipment, e. g. mattress, remote controller, etc., amounted to PLN 5 220. Our Charity could realize this purchase thanks to the Polish tax payers who had helped us by donating 1% out of their annual tax.

However, on the oncological division of Mother and Child Hospital in Warsaw there are 19 old beds that have to still be replaced. The Heroes Charity decided to open a bank sub-account into which you can directly deposit money meant for bed replacement: 06 1020 1068 0000 1002 0171 1530.

... worn out. It is hard to even convert them to certain positions required by the state of patients. The word 'uncomfy' understates the facts too. Today it turned out that they are also dangerous for children – one of the beds collapsed under the small patient.

The medical personnel, parents and children ask for new beds yet it is the latter's voice to be the most crucial here as patients with bone cancer are immobilized in beds almost the whole time while in the hospital. Under no circumstance should they be exposed to any kind of discomfort.

Charity decided to open a bank sub-account into which you can directly deposit money meant for the replacement of the beds on the oncological division: 06 1020 1068 0000 1002 0171 1530.

Thank you for every zloty!

We’re pleased to inform you that the third cardio-monitor (cost – about 17,400 PLN) has already been delivered to the Mother and Child Institute in Warsaw. Apart from the monitor itself (Dash 2500), it’s equipped in special sensors and probes, which help in the patient’s life support after procedures and surgeries.  In case of any complications, it alarms the medical personnel.

We received the money for the cardio-monitor thanks to the  auctions: Easter Chickens and Bunnies painted by volleyball players (women and men) ; hand ballers Mascot; Tomasz Adamek’s boxing glove; and also Lone Star PL Organization (USA) and the Polish Hand Ballers Union remittances.

Thank you very much!

During the 8th Hubert Wagner Memorial in Bydgoszcz foreign volleyball stars (Matey Kaziyski - representative of Bulgaria, Brazilians - Murilo, Dante , Bruno, Vissotto and Giba ) decided to support our Charity by decorating cups.

The ideas for painting the cups varied from sport themed pictures to cartoon characters. Giba was assisted by his daughter Nicole, who sent MMS with her own image to model for drawing. Matey Kazinski painted Donald Duck as it was the only cartoon character that he was able to paint.

The cups are currently listed for auction. The money received will be used to purchase a new medical equipment for the oncological division of Mother and Child hospital in Warsaw.
